I want to hear your opinion

8th Idea temporary logo
The logo you see to the right is a temporary one I created at the beginning of 8th Idea. It was always a stop-gap until I could have a professional designer create something much better.
Mission accomplished.

A few days ago, I posted a status update on the various social networks saying I was “reviewing some great logo options.”

That note generated several requests from people who wanted to see the versions I was considering.

So, instead of conducting this impossible deliberation in private, I thought I would give you the chance to give me your opinions. However, please understand that this isn’t a complete democracy. What I’m most interested in are your perceptions of the designs. You can certainly select your favorite, but I reserve the right to make the ultimate choice. Fair enough?

If you would like to weigh in, click here to go to a one-page Survey Monkey survey. I want to hear what you think. It will take less than five minutes. I promise.

(By the way, these logo designs come from Rolando Guerrero, a talented new designer working at Zag IMC. Thanks, Rolando and thanks Zag!)
  • Jake:
Guess what. I like yours the best. It's clean, simple, fast, and has nothing contrived about. Anything at all, I repeat, anything with a nod the the lightbulb is way too cliche. Been done a million times. And the star one feels like it's working too hard. Design is all about restraint. You don't want the design to be noticed, you simply want it to speak and project. Yours does.
  • You mention the 7 original ideas in the world. Do you know what they are? Thanks!
